Especially when people figure out the loopholes in regards to non existent police enforcement (claim it’s a civil matter) vs civil law remedies and the time gaps between the 2. Here in Illinois if you can live in a place for 30 days and set up mail to go to that address in your name, you have squatters rights which will require a court order to get the sheriff to legally evict the illegal tenants, a costly process that could take months.
