Find this historically ironic as the name of this “new” ship is same as one of the aircraft carriers we sunk at the pivotable Battle of Midway in early June 1942. That defeat of Japan in that battle was arguably the worst in the history of naval warfare and represented the high water mark of the vaunted Imperial Japanese Royal Navy because after we decisively whupped their ass their navy was never “offensive” again and strictly regulated to defense only till we sailed into Tokyo harbor and forced the final surrender on Sept 2. 1945.
