The Reuters Monday morning news alert for 7/24/2023. It astounds us to read of the Russians complaining of a drone attack on Moscow and blaming it as a terrorist attack from Ukraine. Like WHAT DO THEY EXPECT? It is a war they started although arguably we are keeping it going by refusing peace options offered.

And you think elections don’t matter? The United States has NOT won a war decisively since WW2 (unless you count lame duck invasion of Grenada in 1983) and there have been consequences from each loss that resonate to this very day. When you process what is being said here regarding current Ukraine debacle it suggests MAJOR geo political realignments are in store going forward and in our view those realignments are exacerbated by gross incompetence by current administration.

War is a tricky thing. History has taught us that winners are winners but sometimes winners can be losers also. Take the British Empire in the 20th Century. The British fought WW1 from afar in regards to THEIR country being exposed directly to the carnage of war....

We read this NATO declaration and note the gathering was in VILINIUS which in our memory banks is the name of the city of birth for one Commander Marko Ramius from the Hunt for Red October 1990 movie. The irony on us from a strictly pop culture standpoint is the NATO alliance has chosen to meet in the birthplace of a fictional submarine commander in charge of a Typhoon class soviet sub capable of nuclear annihilation. Ironic?
