This tragic incident happened in our area and we remember posting it at the time. The victim was walking along Roosevelt Road in Wheaton in an area familiar to us and from the news reports at the time was hit in an area not well lit in the evening hours on Jan 2 of this year. We feel for the family grappling with the tragic aftermath of this to start the New Year and post this with the hope it prompts someone to come forward to either voice a legitimate suspicion on who may have done it or the actual driver who did it. Please help if you can, it is the right thing to do. RIP

Seeing as our toddlin town of Chicago was the epicenter for the birth of the skyscraper back in the late 1800s, it seems fitting this Helmut Jahn “coda” building should dazzle our Michigan Ave “corridor”. Our question remains is who would live there? Sky high rents, dearth of shopping and restaurants that used to be there and extreme safety and crime issues permeate the discussion on that point.We have lived in the metro area of the city proper (read western suburbs)all of our lives and we will NEVER go in urban core of the city for anything anymore and we are not alone.There is a quiet yet understated steady exodus out of the city sure to expand as things progressively get worse which we are sure will be the case given the collapse of law and order and justice we are seeing in new Johnson administration. Sadly this measure does seem prudent but adds to ANOTHER stark reminder of how the lawlessness fueled by Democrat city rule exacerbated by lax law and order and follow up “justice” mandates permeating thru out our country is affecting our normal everyday lives in the most basic of ways.
