Chicago sports fans got a mixed bag this week. First the Chicago White Sox insinuated they were leaving town in 6 years when lease at Guaranteed rate Field expires ostensibly to give them leverage in future talks, a ploy they used before.Then we got word Steve “Mongo” McMichael IS on the ballot as a semi finalist to be inducted in Football HOF in Canton OH. To those of you unaware, Steve is suffering greatly from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and the possibility of him getting in at this point in his life exhilarating to all around him and to us. Good Luck. And this “projection” on the future for the Blackhawks…

We clearly get why ANY school would need protective measures to allow entry after the nefarious report card of shootings among the most vulnerable here in the USA but this free speech restriction escalation smacks of desperation police state tactics. Even worse, there are parents who probably did sign this under time pressures but at least there is one voice we can count on to speak out.

Canada is also suffering major wildfire exposures. We know. We are breathing the wildfire air here for the first time in our lifetimes.
