We read this history and immediately noticed a key part was missing as to why the Japs signed surrender declaration on a battleship.Remember the US had built 4 Iowa class battleships by 1944. They were the Iowa, the New Jersey, the Wisconsin and the Missouri. What the post here failed to note was that all 4 battleships were practically brand new at time of surrender on 9/2/1945 so why the Missouri? Because that was the home state of then president Harry S Truman, a further ball bust.
