As customers of this establishment for the better part of half a century and to us the BEST bar in northern Illinois run by the 3rd and 4th generations of the founding Mack family (you know the long haired guy Steve with the baseball bat behind the bar) this is a bittersweet post as we were caught unawares they were closing so soon.

Scuttlebut in the hood was New Year’s was going to be the end of a great run and we were planning a farewell visit in the next week with some good friends so this caught us short for sure. Lots of memories there, sorry to see it go.
