It also clearly demonstrates how cities will wither away without the tax revenue generated by the big box stores or safely supported retail corridors. Who would want to open a retail business with the lopsided biased justice meted out against rampant theft? Chicago is a glaring example of this as you drive down Michigan Ave here, our showcase downtown thoroughfare and observe the empty and boarded up storefronts in once was considered PRIME retail space.In addition we have friends who refuse to come to Chicago after making it a yearly pilgrimmage to see the Blues Fest or a Cubs game, citing the dearth of quality restaurants closed since pandemic and NOT reopened and our sterling international reputation for crime. Even more tragic is this description applies to most if not all major urban centers in the US as we speak. And you say elections do not matter? Next: This to us reflects a destruction of the "mores" of society. We cannot fathom how a loving parent could allow this to happen unless there are serious addiction or mental issues involved. →
