← Prev: Here is an idiot making a BEYOND STUPID choice for ya Next: We believe the so called historically inaccurate 1619 Project is an unfair categorization of black history in this country thru jaded eyes. No one denies that from 1776 to 1865 this country was guilty of slavery BUT ONLY in the 11 Southern states that eventually became the defeated Confederacy and for ONLY 89 years after our country was born. Prior to that, it was ALL England and other European colonial powers who used slaves so the assertion that it began in 1619 has no bearing on the USA. One can argue Washington and Jefferson, our 1st and 3rd presidents were slave owners but both hailed from the grand state of Virginia who in later years would be thrust into the historical spotlight as home to the capital of the soundly defeated Confederacy in The Civil War in Richmond. That is our perspective. This country paid a dear price in the Civil War to free the slaves and although progress has been slow in certain quarters, progress has been made in addressing racism in this country and it continues to this day. →
