You may remember that the EU took the lead in establishing amended internet privacy rights in 2018 and again starting last month (Aug 25) they instituted the Digital Services Act described in detail here.

This may very well change how governments handle and interact with Big Tech GLOBALLY as it did with the GDPR a few years ago. With Google on the grill in the antitrust case being heard as we speak here in the US in DC, it appears the Internet has entered a new phase of disruption on ALL levels with the user as the focus.
