The irony is all thru our history there have been serious political divisions. Going back to the turn of the 19th century and rolling thru those decades there were multiple presidential elections that were bitterly fought with the elections of 1800 and 1824 immediately coming to mind.
And further down that century we fought an actual Civil War that was the epitome of division, a war that in many subtle and discreet ways is STILL being fought today.
To us the big problem that exists in our country today was the slick move by the powers to be of sheparding thru the legality of SUPER PAC cloaked funding in the late 2000s. This meant domestic as well as foreign wealth could be concentrated to accomplish certain opaque political goals without revealing the source of the funding LEGALLY. It even spawned a new political term “DARK MONEY”.
It allowed for affiliated political action committees to target and fund the local munincipal and county DAs for election on the Democratic side across the country and the results are clear to see in our crumbling urban centers. It showed how a well thought out, well financed campaign cloaked in legal secrecy could directly influence our quality of life, a sad commentary moving forward.
And this true American speaks for us all and has the following and support to prove it resonates.
